Counseling Hufford Bio

Mrs. Laura Hufford Counselor, K-5

I am Mrs. Laura Hufford, Northeastern Elementary's School Counselor. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education from Anderson College. I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of Dayton. My co-worker is Willow.  Willow is a Therapy Dog that was donated to Northeastern Elementary by Assistance Dogs of America, www.adai.org.  She is an amazing labrador retriever.

Willow and I work collaboratively with staff and parents. We get to know the students and look for the strengths in each one.  We help students learn about themselves and others through monthly guidance counseling lessons, school-wide character education programs, group counseling, and individual counseling.

Our school is a character-based school where students learn the academic skills and life skills needed to become successful adults. Our staff believes that the whole child matters, and we create an environment that guides each child to find their potential.
